The September Issue

All you fashionistas out there, its that time of year again, the September issues have arrived on newsstands!

Vogue has outdone itself this year with 916 pages (approx. 2 inches in thickness), features on Lady Gaga, Chelsea Clinton and an interesting style retrospective.  The thing weighs a ton! Well done!  Also must gets are Elle (featuring Katy Perry on the cover and boasting 600+ pages), and Marie Claire featuring Miley Cyrus (style star? I think not) with less page volume but more original content.  And there's always The September Issue (streaming on Netflix), a must-watch to Anna Wintour, the devil herself, and Grace Coddington go at it over the big issue.

Fashions Night Out 2012

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! New York City's Fashion's Night Out is less than a month away (September 6, 2012).  Tomorrow they will be releasing the events list for this year's FNO.  I'm hoping that my favorite Soho spots will have the amazing events and guest appearances I've come to expect from FNO.  Can't wait!

Museum Chic - Schiaparelli and Prada

We went to the Met (which, for non-New Yorkers means the Metropolitan Museum of Art) on Saturday to check out a few of the new exhibits.  Primarily though, I wanted to see Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations before it closes August 19.  It did not disappoint.  If you're a fashion fan, check out the exhibit while you can.

The Met's Spring 2012 Costume Institute exhibition, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, explores the striking affinities between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, two Italian designers from different eras. Inspired by Miguel Covarrubias's "Impossible Interviews" for Vanity Fair in the 1930s, the exhibition features orchestrated conversations between these iconic women to suggest new readings of their most innovative work. Iconic ensembles are presented with videos of simulated conversations between Schiaparelli and Prada directed by Baz Luhrmann, focusing on how both women explore similar themes in their work through very different approaches.
